Safari from Manama.
Gulf Air flies straight to Nairobi — and Bahrain shares Kenya’s clock.
Manama and Nairobi share the same time zone — zero time difference, zero jet lag.
Bahrain rejoined the safari map in June 2025 when Gulf Air reinstated its nonstop Bahrain–Nairobi service — the island’s first direct link to safari country in over a decade. Manama and Nairobi share the same time zone, so the ~5-hour hop lands you fresh for a morning game drive.

Maasai Mara, Amboseli and all Kenya safaris
Gulf Air (reinstated Jun 2025)
For Tanzania, Southern Africa and Rwanda there is no nonstop from Bahrain — one short connection via Nairobi, Dubai or Doha covers all of it.
Visas for Bahraini passport holders
Current rules at publish time, from the official portals. Rules follow the passport — always confirm on the official site before travel.
Kenya
eTA required for all nationalities — USD 30, apply online ahead of travel (etakenya.go.ke).
Tanzania
eVisa or visa on arrival — USD 50 ordinary tourist visa (visa.immigration.go.tz).
South Africa
Visa required in advance for Bahraini passports — apply via the South African mission/VFS before travel.
Rwanda
Visa on arrival — USD 50 single entry, USD 70 multiple entry; no pre-approval needed.
Visa rules follow your passport, not your residency. Kenya’s eTA applies to every nationality, so residents on any passport follow the same process — but South Africa’s and Rwanda’s rules are nationality-specific, so residents on other passports should check their own passport’s requirements before booking.
